Don Papa Rum is a premium rum manufactured on Negros, the third biggest island of the Philippines, and aged for seven years in barrels made from American oak. Due to the intense, subtropical climate on the island, the rum experiences a likewise intense aging process, which results in a great aroma profile consisting of vanilla and fruits as well as a very intense and delicious scent. Don Papa Rum is dedicated to the memory of the Filipino folk hero Dionisio Magbuelas, who was an important figure of the Philippine revolution. Magbuelas contributed significantly to the liberation of the city Negros and the Philippines. In colloquial speech Magbuelas is often referred to as “Papa Isio”, which is where the rum takes its name from. Furthermore, the national hero is prominently featured on the spirit’s label.
