Description
RED – THE COLOR OF GOOD OMEN
CIHUATN CINABRIO
Cihuatn Cinabrio is a rum crafted as an homage to Kinich Ahau, Mayan god of the sun. Legend has it that the Sleeping Woman, guardian goddess of he Cihuatn valley, would intercede on behalf of the people of Cihuatn so that Kinich Ahau would energize the valley with his two hummingbirds. The name Cinabrio was inspired by the color red, which was crafted by the ancient Maya using the mineral Cinabrio (cinnabar). Red was Kinich Ahaus sacred color and regarded as a good omen. The rum is aged in ex-Bourbon American white oak barrels.
THE LEGEND BEHIND CIHUATN CINABRIO
The Cihuatn valleys closely guarded secrets and legends are now revealed through our aged rum to those curious spirits with a thirst to explore.
It was a thirst for wonder that inspired the ancient Maya to study the stars, to travel to faraway places and to create unimaginable things. Weve inherited this unquenchable
curiosity and we invoked it to create El Salvadors first rum. In every sip, we invite you to discover the secrets and legends of our land. At Cihuatn, we cherish and celebrate this curiosity that drives us all to learn, explore, grow and enjoy life. Invoke your curiosity.
