The rum series Bonpland isahomage tothe French doctor and naturalist Aim Bonpland.This Bonpland Rum matures for some years inBourbon barrels onGuadeloupe and then gets afinish inGerman Grand Cru wine barrels.

Following in the footsteps of Bonpland, special individual casks from the top rum distilleries were carefully selected in order to refine them in the best casks from our top wineries. Another six months of finish in the fresh barriques is enough for the top distillates, which have been matured for decades, to give them a final decisive note. Each decanter bottle in this limited exclusive series is individually numbered by hand and presented on a wooden coaster.

Bellevue Distillery in Capesterre is located in the heart of the largest sugar cane plantation on Marie-Galante. The origins of the distillery may lie in the middle of the 19th century on the island of Marie-Galante. However, we do not know exactly when rum production started here. Today, around 800,000 liters of rum are produced in a column that is still in the Bellevue Distillery. Between tradition and modernity, Bellevue Distillery is the premier distillery in the Caribbean committed to protecting the environment.

TASTING NOTES:

Gentle sweetness of anise in the top notes, backed by liquorice candy canes, heavy molasses, cloves, smoke, aged leather and oak.
Sweet, powerful liquorice and oak and strong rum. Sophisticated, concentrated and long-lasting.
Long lasting notes of liquorice and sweet aniseed. A gentle spiciness of oak is noticeable.
