1731 Barbados 8 YO is aged for a minimum of 8 years in casks that previously contained bourbon. The blend consists of rums produced by two types of distillation – pot still, which gives the rum aromatic richness and intensity; and column still, which in turn “smoothes out” the rum and gives it elegance. A beautiful rum that you will enjoy more and more with each glass!

Aroma: Light, woody tones, vanilla, sour jelly candies, then strawberry, cherry and lightly roasted nuts.

Taste: Smooth and fresh. Vanilla and woodiness appear again.

Finish: Fuller and delicious, with a strong influence of soft and spicy oak.

The year 1731 represents an important historical milestone associated with rum. It was in this year that the British Navy began issuing a daily ration of rum to its sailors. It was one of the important impulses that contributed to the development of the art of rum production.
