SLYRS MADEIRA CASK SINGLE MALT WHISKY 46% 700 ML

Madeira is a dessert wine from the Portuguese island of the same name. It is one of the so-called “fortified” wines, which means that alcohol – usually brandy – is added to it during fermentation.

This stops the fermentation process, since the yeasts at an alcohol content of 16% vol. and cannot survive anymore. The result is a wine with a lot of residual sweetness, which can now develop to full maturity in barrels.

In these barrels then comes the SLYRS Whisky, which has already had four to five years of aging in conventional American white oak casks. After a good two-year finish, the malt takes on the fruity, light tones of this noble wine, creating a unique symphony of aromas.

Tasting note:

Color: Medium light amber

Odor: Pleasant after beeswax, pineapple with cedar wood and some chamomile.

Taste: Dry with a soft mouthfeel.

Aftertaste: Long lingering notes of roasted aromas, honey and laurel.
